OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU Men's Track & Field team will be making its final tune-up before it enters indoor championship season as the Evangels prepare to compete at the Washburn Open in its final indoor regular season meet at the Sneed Indoor Athletic Facility in Topeka, Kansas from Jan. 30-31.

  • Participants: Jonathan Avila, Blake Jensen, Chase Cotarelo, Daniel Ponce
• 3000-Meter Run (Open) – Saturday – 12:30 pm
  • Participants: Jaden Rodriguez, Lucky Maila

EVENT NOTES

• In the highly prestigious meet, Mid-America Christian will be competing in its first Distance Medley Relay race of the season as the tandem of Jonathan Avila, Blake Jensen, Chase Cotarelo, and Daniel Ponce will compete in the event.
• It will mark the second-straight year the Evangels are running in the Distance Medley Relay at the Washburn Open. In last year's competition, the team of Aidan Collins, Jaden Rodriguez, Collin Seely, and Mohamed Zairi established MACU's record with a time of 10:48.50.
• The only other event the Evangels will be running in will be the 3000-meter run taking place at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Junior Lucky Maila and sophomore Jaden Rodriguez will be looking to improve their times in the event. Rodriguez set MACU's record time at the PSU Crimson and Gold Invitational back on Dec. 6, crossing the line in 8:43.66.
• Maila comes into the race set MACU's second-fastest mark with an 8:44.74 and currently owns the top mark in the NCCAA after conversions while Rodriguez's mark set at the Crimson and Gold converted to an 8:49.74, ranking fourth in the NCCAA.
