Marcus Moeller Selected as Sooner Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year

OKLAHOMA CITY – For the second time in his illustrious career, Mid-America Christian Athletic Director Marcus Moeller has been named the 2025-26 Sooner Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year.

Voted upon by the league's Athletic Directors, it is the second time that Moeller has been tabbed as the league's AD of the Year after completing his 11th year as the AD at MACU and his 15th year with the institution. Moeller first won the award following the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year.

"Thank you to my peers within the SAC for this recognition," stated Moeller. "The award reflects MACU's great campus leadership as well as our incredible athletic support staff, high achieving coaches, and amazing student athletes. Those four groups on our campus deserve all the credit for this type of award. I look forward to the work ahead of us as we continue to find new ways to build on the success we've experienced over the past several years."

Over the course of the 2025-26 athletic year, Moeller oversaw unprecedented success across MACU's programs, qualifying for NAIA Tournament play in three sports, including winning the SAC Tournament in women's basketball and baseball.

The MACU Baseball program put together its best year in program history as it advanced all the way to the Avista NAIA World Series after capturing the program's first NAIA Opening Round Championship by taking down last year's National Champion, LSU Shreveport.

The MACU Women's Basketball team also seized its first SAC Tournament title after putting together three thrilling results in the league tourney.

"Marcus' selection as the SAC Athletic Director of the Year is incredibly well-deserved," remarked SAC Commissioner John Martin. "He has done a great job at Mid-America Christian and has been a valuable voice within the conference. Marcus is someone people respect because he's thoughtful, collaborative, and always willing to help. I've seen firsthand the positive impact he's had on the SAC and how much he genuinely cares about helping the conference move forward. I'm grateful for his leadership and extremely happy to see him recognized by his peers."

Once again, MACU's athletic programs continued to be amongst the elite in the SAC, finishing second in the 2025-26 SAC Commissioner's Cup standings after winning the cup for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years.

Moeller is not only a very proactive member of the MACU community, but has been a strong servant of the SAC, the NAIA, and NCCAA. Moeller serves as the Athletic Director Liason and on the Oversight Committees for Men's Soccer and Women's Soccer in the conference as well as serves the SAC Conduct in Competition Committee.

At the NAIA level, Moeller serves as the Chair of the NAIA Women's Basketball Selection Committee on-top of being a sitting member of the NAIA National Administrative Committee. Within the NCCAA, Moeller serves as a President designate, sits on the Admin Committee, as well as a member of the Competition Committee.
