6.3.08 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Mid-America Christian University head softball coach, Jerald Lewis, has announced the signing of Grayson County College transfer Caitlyn Ulmer. Ulmer, a junior pitcher, will join the MACU softball program in the fall of 2008.

Ulmer, 19, is a Pottsboro, Texas native. She is the daughter of Marty and Lana Ulmer. Ulmer is a graduate of Pottsboro High School. While playing for the Pottsboro Lady Cardinals she was voted newcomer of the year as a freshman in 2002 and as a senior in 2006 she was voted the team's most valuable player and defensive player of the year.

Ulmer pitched at Grayson County College in Denison, Texas for two years. She was awarded second team All-Conference as a sophomore.

"Caitlyn will bring knowledge and experience to our young program," Head Softball Coach Jerald Lewis said. "She has an opportunity to contribute to the team right away. Her two years at Grayson County College, under Coach Theresa Barnett, have helped her mature not only as an athlete but also as a person. Her experience will help take our young program in the direction it needs to go. I am glad to have her join us at MACU."
