Oklahoma City, Okla. -- Mid-America Christian University head coach
Robert Wakefield has secured the services of pitcher/outfielder
Amber Tinney for the upcoming 2012 season.
Tinney is transferring to MACU from Rose State College, where she helped them achieve a national ranking.
A 5'4 native of Marlow, Okla., Tinney was a four-year letterwinner for the Marlow HS Raiders.
Tinney was an All-Conference outfielder and was also a solid student-athlete, ranking 17th in her graduating class and earning a spot in the National Honor Society.
She is the daughter of Tammy and Rodney Tinney and plans to major in English at MACU.
"Amber is going to bring a lot to our program here at MACU," Wakefield said.
"With a year of pitching in the junior college ranks, she is greatly going to help our team this year and in the future on the mound. Amber is a great young lady with a fantastic personality and is going to be a big plus for our program."
Tinney and the Lady Evangels will open the 2012 season with a home doubleheader against Southwestern Christian University on Feb. 11 at 1 p.m.
