OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University softball head coach Robert Wakefield has announced the signing of Oklahoma City native Amanda Stevenson for the 2013 season.

Stevenson, a Putnam City HS product, earned four letters in Fast pitch and one in Slow pitch in the 2010-11 season.

She earned first-team All-Conference honors as a junior and was a second-team All-Conference selection last season. She was also selected as the team's Offensive Player of the Year for the 2010-11 season.

A well-respected competitor, Stevenson received the Best Team Player award from 2009-12.

Off the diamond, Stevenson is solid in the classroom and the community. She maintained at least a 3.7 grade-point average throughout her high school career and was named to the National Honor Society in 2009. She also earned the Solid Student-Athlete award from 2009-12 and is a student leader at Cherokee Hills Baptist church.

"Amanda is a player that will fit into our scheme here at MACU," Wakefield said. "She can play many positions on the field, which will help her earn playing time. She is a very good student and will fit right into our team chemistry."

She is the daughter of Kim Schell and is currently undecided on a major at MACU.
