OKLAHOMA CITY - Mid-America Christian University head softball coach Robert Wakefield has announced the signing of Moore, Okla. native Alex Milligan for next season.
Milligan was a big part of an impressive run of success for the Moore HS Lions that featured a 2007 6A state championship and four consecutive 6A district and regional titles.
She was named the Oklahoma Player of the Year in 2010 and also earned All-Conference and All-City honors.
Milligan was also a 2010 Slow Pitch All-State selection and a Fast Pitch All-State performer in 2009.
Milligan is expected to give the Lady Evangels versatility in the field next season.
"Alex is a young lady that I coached four years at Moore High School that gives us a little pop in the lineup," Wakefield said. "She will be able to fill a dual role at catching and playing first base. We are very excited about getting her here at MACU."
She is the daughter of Shelli and Ken Milligan and plans to major in business at MACU.
