OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels couldn't overcome a nine-run deficit and fell 9-4 to the Oklahoma Baptist University Lady Bison tonight (May 3) at the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament at the Hall of Fame Stadium in OKC.  The Lady Evangels' season comes to an end, while OBU advances to tomorrow's round of the SAC tourney.

The Lady Bison done the bulk of their damage with a seven-run second inning, powered by a grand slam by Kasey Maddox.

OBU added two more runs in the bottom of the third on a pinch-hit two-run single by Bre Russell that extended the lead to nine runs.

The Lady Evangels fought back in the fourth as a two-run double by Erica Love and a two-run homer by Carson Osborne accounted for a four-run inning.

But Chianelle Flores came on in the fifth and shut the door for the Lady Bison, holding the Lady Evangels scoreless over the final three innings.

MACU also got a good relief effort from Jackie Hilterbran, who also pitched three scoreless frames.

A huge highlight of the Lady Evangels' 2013 season was its offense, with a .305 team batting average and seven hitters batting at least .316.  Jackie Hilterbran hit a team-high .391 on the season, while Erica Love smashed a team-best 10 homers.
