OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University softball head coach Robert Wakefield has announced the signing of catcher Miranda Collett for the 2014 season.
Collett played at Calera (Okla.) High School for the Bulldogs and helped CHS to a Fastpitch district championship her sophomore season and a district title and regional runner-up finish in both Fastpitch and Slowpitch as a junior.
She was selected as the team MVP the past three seasons and is a two-time All-Conference performer and was an All-State pick her senior year. She also led the team in hits as a sophomore and was named the Choctaw Player of the Year following her senior campaign.
"Miranda is going to help us greatly at the catcher position and she can also play third base," Wakefield said. "She is a quiet young lady but will let her talent lead on the field."
She is the daughter of Crystal Collett and plans on majoring in Sports Management at MACU.
