OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University head softball coach Robert Wakefield has announced that Mykah Smith has signed with the program for the 2015 season.

Smith, a native of Ardmore, Okla., was a Lake Country All-Conference performer and was an All-Area Super Team selection playing for the Plainview High School Indians.

She helped the Indians capture three straight district championship and three consecutive Lake Country conference titles along with a regional championship in 2012.

Smith holds the single-game school record for RBI (10) and tied the school's single-season mark for home runs (7).

"Mykah will put some pop into our lineup," Wakefield said.  "She is a power hitting left hander that should enjoy playing on our field.  She will see time at first base and the outfield.  We are so glad to get her here at MACU."

She is the daughter of Lacey and Mike Smith and will major in Early Childhood Education at MACU.
