OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Mid-America Christian University softball program has made an addition for the upcoming 2015 season by signing pitcher Macie Crites, head coach Robert Wakefield has announced.

Crites last played softball at Murray State College in Tishomingo, Okla. and was a first-team all-conference selection.

The Caney, Okla. native also played basketball at Murray State and at Henderson State University (Ark.) during the Fall of 2014.

Crites prepped at Caney High School and helped the Cougars advance to the state tournament in 2011.

"Macie is a big addition to our pitching staff for this spring," Wakefield said.  "She is a young lady with JUCO experience from Murray State and we are glad to have her in our MACU family of softball."

She is the daughter of Doyen and Debbie Crites and plans to major in business at MACU.

Crites is joining a program that enjoyed a breakout 2014 season by winning a single-season best 34 games along with the program's first appearance in the Sooner Athletic Conference title game.
