Shawnee, Okla. -- The No. 13-ranked Oklahoma Baptist University Lady Bison swept the Mid-America Christian University Evangels by scores of 5-0 and 11-1 in the regular season finales today (Apr. 29) in Shawnee, Okla.

The two schools will now turn around and face each other in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Thursday afternoon (May 1) at 1:30 p.m.

OBU got a dominating performance from McKenzie Jones in the opener, who shut out the Lady Evangels on only two hits over 6 2/3 innings.

The Lady Bison got their first run in the bottom of the second as consecutive doubles by LeNae Sanchez and Dara Gray with two outs put OBU on the board.

Sammy Leisinger then homered to lead off the third and a two-run double by Shalee Cordell along with an RBI single from Sanchez finished off a four-run inning.

MACU starter Amber Tinney allowed five runs in 2 2/3 innings and Kelcie Wolf blanked the Lady Bison over the next 3 1/3 frames.

Kasey Maddox gave OBU an early lead with a two-run homer in the first inning before an RBI single by Carson Osborne plated Hannah Lynch in the second to cut the lead in half.

But the Lady Bison put it away with consecutive four-run frames in the second and third.

Hannah Wilbur struck out seven and gave up one run in five innings to get the win for OBU in the nightcap.
