OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian University Softball program has added Rachel Manning for the 2015 season, head coach Robert Wakefield has announced.
Manning, a native of nearby Moore, Okla., last played at Eastern Junior College in Wilburton, Okla.
She prepped at Moore (Okla.) High School and was a Golden Glove award winner for two seasons.
A solid student-athlete, Manning also earned Phi Theta Kappa honors at Moore HS.
"Rachel is a young lady that brings experience and toughness to our program," Wakefield said.
"She will be able to play multiple positions on the infield and brings the kind of character to this team that we are trying to establish. We are very fortunate to have Rachel be a part of our MACU softball family."
She is the daughter of Guy and Debbie Manning and plans to major in Elementary Education at MACU.
Manning is joining a program that enjoyed a breakout 2014 season by winning a single-season best 34 games along with the program's first appearance in the Sooner Athletic Conference title game.
