Greenville, SC -- For the second time under Hall-of-Fame head coach Robert Wakefield, the Mid-America Christian University softball team has received the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Scholar Team award.
To qualify for this prestigious honor, the team must have a cumulative 3.4 grade-point-average for all student-athletes on the roster. The Lady Evangels produced a sterling 3.46 GPA.
The award caps a historic season for the Lady Evangels on and off the field, as MACU won a single-season best 34 games in 2014 and made the program's first appearance in the Sooner Athletic Conference title game.
