OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University softball head coach Robert Wakefield has announced the signing of pitcher Caitlin Swain to the program for the 2015 season.

Swain comes to MACU after competing at Ranger Junior College in Ranger, Texas.

Competing for the Ranger Rangers, Swain was a first-team All-Conference selection and received an All-Star game invitation in helping the Rangers advance to the Regional Tourney. She also earned Academic All-Conference honors at Ranger.

She prepped at B.F. Terry High School in Rosenberg, Texas, where she was a first and second-team All-District pick and set multiple pitching records (strikeouts, etc.).  Swain was also an All-Area pitcher and graduated in the Top 20 % of her class while being named to the Who's Who list.

"Caitlin is going to be a giant addition to our pitching staff," Wakefield said.  "She brings experience in the circle and good work habits.  We will enjoy having her on our team and being a leader on and off the field.  We are very fortunate to have a person like Caitlin on our team and going to MACU."

Caitlin is the daughter of Billy and Carole Swain and plans to major in Business at MACU.

Swain is joining a program that enjoyed a breakout 2014 season by winning a single-season best 34 games along with the program's first appearance in the Sooner Athletic Conference title game.
