MACU Softball Signs Brittany Ward for 2017 Season

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University softball head coach Robert Wakefield has announced the addition of Brittany Ward as another early signing for the 2017 season.

Ward started four seasons for Red Oak High School and helped the program win four straight Class B state championships.

She was an All-State Small East selection at shortstop and was also an All-VYPE-Southeast Region first-team performer in both the 2014 & 2015 seasons.

A versatile athlete, Ward was a four-year starter on the hardwood for the Red Oak HS basketball team and was the conference MVP in 2015 and an All-Conference selection in 2014.

"Brittany is a young lady that is going to step in and help our softball program immediately," Wakefield said.

"She has played at a high level of competition by winning the state championship four years.  We are very fortunate to have her at MACU and our softball program.  Brittany is a great athlete and a versatile one where she can play many positions on the field.  We are expecting great things from her."

Ward is joining a program that is coming off consecutive winning seasons for the first time since joining the NAIA in 2008.

She is the daughter of Hoss and Sherry Ward and plans to major in Psychology with Criminal Justice at MACU.
