OKLAHOMA CITY -- Hannah Lynch hit for the cycle in the first and Natalie Bissell delivered a game-winning, walk-off single in the nightcap to give the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels a doubleheader sweep of the Central Christian College Lady Tigers today (Feb. 19) at Jack Allen Field.
The Lady Tigers had scored three times in the top of the seventh to overcome a 3-1 deficit and take and took a one-run lead on a two-run single by Sydney Nelson.
Cassidy Hart got the seventh-inning rally started for the Lady Evangels with a one-out double and was chased to third on a single by Kenna McCoy.
After Lynch was intentionally walked, Jackie Hilterbran came through with an RBI single that tied the score and set up Bissell's walk-off hit that plated McCoy.
Caitlin Swain pitched five solid innings in the second game for the Lady Evangels but didn't factor into the decision. She allowed only one run and struck out five with no walks. Marki Dethloff was the pitcher of record and got the win by allowing one earned run in her two innings of work.
McCoy's single in the seventh capped a perfect 4-of-4 outing at the plate for the Lady Evangels in the second game. Hart also had two hits in four at-bats for MACU.
It was Lynch that powered the offensive attack in the opener for a 10-2 victory. Lynch went a perfect 4-of-4 in hitting for the cycle with four RBI and two runs scored.
Lynch got things going with a two-run homer in the first and then doubled in the second, singled home a run in the third before hitting an RBI triple in the fifth to complete the cycle.
