Hilterbran, McCoy Earn NCCAA Softball All-Region Honors

Greenville, SC -- Mid-America Christian University seniors Jackie Hilterbran and Kenna McCoy have been selected to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Central Regional softball team, the organization released today (May. 11).

McCoy and Hilterbran were also named All-Sooner Athletic Conference performers last Monday (May 4).

McCoy, a native of Muskogee, Okla., finished third on the team in hitting this season with a .344 batting average.  She was also second in hits (45) and tied for first with two triples.  McCoy wrapped up her career second in career hits (151) and third in batting average (.345) since MACU became an NAIA school.

Hilterbran led the Lady Evangels in batting average (.399), hits (55) and doubles (12) this season.  Her .399 average is a single-season record for the Lady Evangels as an NAIA school. The OKC native also ends her career as the school's all-time leader in hits (211), runs (134), RBI (83) and doubles (39) while ranking second in career batting average (.358) since joining the NAIA.  She has put together three of the top four single-season batting averages at MACU.

The duo helped the Lady Evangels (24-21) register consecutive winning seasons for the first time since joining the NAIA under fourth-year head coach Robert Wakefield.
