OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels will be the No. 1 seed for this week's National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Central Regional Tournament, set to begin Thursday (May 7) at Tom Heath Field on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University in OKC.
The Lady Evangels will face the winner of No. 4 seeded and tourney host Oklahoma Christian University and No. 5 seed Crowley's Ridge tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
With a win, MACU would move on and play Friday afternoon (May 8) at 1 p.m., while they would compete at 3 p.m. on Friday with a loss.
The championship game is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, with an if necessary game at 1 p.m. (providing the loser of the 11 a.m. game hasn't lost yet).
No. 2 seed Oklahoma Wesleyan University and No. 3 seed Central Baptist College are also competing in the tourney.
The Lady Evangels are 24-19 this season under fourth-year head coach Robert Wakefield.
It's the second straight season the Lady Evangels are over .500, marking the only two winning campaigns for the Lady Evangels since becoming an NAIA school in 2008.
