Lady Eagles Upend Lady Evangels 9-3 in Weather-Halted Game at NCCAA Regional Tourney

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Niki Davidson drove in five runs to lead the Oklahoma Christian University Lady Eagles to a 9-3 win over the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels in action today (May 7) at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Central Regional Tournament at Tom Heath Field on the OC campus.  The game was halted in the top of the sixth inning due to severe weather in the area.

The Lady Evangels will next play the winner of Crowley's Ridge College/Oklahoma Wesleyan University/Central Baptist College tomorrow afternoon (May 8) at 3 p.m. in an elimination game.

Davison got the Lady Eagles going with a two-run single to fuel a three-run first inning.

The Lady Evangels (24-20) got a run in the bottom of the first when Jackie Hilterbran reached on an infield single that eventually chased Taryn Callender home due to a fielding error.

Davidson then expanded the OC lead with a three-run homer in the third inning that made it 6-1.

Trailing 7-1, Katie Gracey singled followed by another error that plated Hilterbran and Mykah Smith.

OC then scored two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to finish out the scoring.

Hilterbran had two hits for the Lady Evangles, while Davidson went 2-of-5 with her five runs driven and Courtney Starr was 3-of-4 for the Lady Eagles (27-19).
