OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University junior hurler Morgan Wardlow has been selected as the Sooner Athletic Conference pitcher of the week, the league announced today (Mar. 7).

Wardlow was outstanding on the mound for the Lady Evangels this past weekend, pitching 14 shutout innings in victories over Bethel and Ottawa as MACU went a perfect 4-0 at the Friends University tournament.

The Norman, Okla. native gave up only seven hits in the two wins, with six strikeouts and only two walks.  

For the season, Wardlow has now won four straight decisions and has a 2.98 earned-run-average.

Wardlow has been instrumental in helping the Lady Evangels enjoy one of their best stretches since joining the NAIA in 2008.

MACU has won 10 of their last 11 games overall to improve to 11-7 following a 1-6 start to the season.
