OKLAHOMA CITY – Mid-America Christian University senior outfielder Tiphani Napier has now been selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Softball Player of the Week, the organization announced today (Feb. 21).
This follows Napier earning the Sooner Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week yesterday (Feb. 20).
Napier batted .833 (5-of-6) at the plate in two victories over Central Christian College on Saturday (Feb. 18), including tying her own single-game record with seven RBIs in a 20-1 win in the opening game.
Her seven RBIs featured a two-run homer and bases-clearing double that fueled a 15-run third inning, the highest scoring inning for the Evangels as an NAIA program.
Napier then went 2-of-3 and drove in one run in a 7-1 win in the nightcap.
The Ardmore, Okla. native is first in the Sooner Athletic Conference in RBIs per game (2.25) and second in batting average (.636), slugging percentage (1.091) and on-base-percentage (.688).
Napier and the Softball Evangels are 2-2 on the season and will next host Southwestern College (Kan.) Thursday afternoon (Feb. 23) at 1 pm at Jack Allen Field.
