Muskogee, Okla. – Courtney Anderson tossed a three-hit, complete game shutout in pitching the Mid-America Christian University Evangels to a 5-0 victory over the Bacone College Lady Warriors in the second game today (Apr. 11) in Muskogee, Okla. The win gave the Evangels a split of the twinbill, as the Lady Warriors took the opener 3-2.

Bacone's Griffin Gilbert also pitched well for the Lady Warriors, but the Evangels broke through in the sixth inning and took the lead on an RBI single by Larissa Tate for the first run of the game.

The Evangels then gained some breathing room as Katie Gracey finished a four-run seventh inning with a two-run homer.

That was more than enough run support for Anderson, who struck out two and walked one.

Caitlin Butler recorded a career-high three hits in four at-bats in the second game for the Evangels, while Gracey was two-of-three.

Gilbert struck out five and was charged with one run in 5 1/3 innings for Bacone.

With the opening game tied 2-2, Hunter Colburn singled with two out and then scored the game-winning run on an RBI double by Monya Downing.

Tiphani Napier had both of the Evangels' RBIs in the first game, singling home Butler in both the first and third innings.
