Women’s Soccer Signs Four To Compete In 2020 Season

OKLAHOMA CITY – Mid-America Christian women's soccer head coach Evan Dresel is proud to announce the addition of four student-athletes to the Evangels' 2020 signing class. Aubrey Adams, Dixie Anderson, Samantha Rodriguez and Josie Wiley have officially signed their national letters of intent to join the Evangels next season.

"We are so excited to have these four players join our team next season," said Dresel. "All four are elite players and will contribute to the team immediately."

Adams comes to MACU after a stellar two-year career at Seminole State College. The defender helped lead the Belles to a 20-1-3 record and an appearance in the NJCAA National Championship Tournament. Adams was a part of an elite defensive backfield that ranked second in goals allowed average at 0.38 per game after giving up just nine goals in 24 matches.

Along with Adams, Anderson was another defender in that elite Seminole State defense. Anderson saw action in 24 games and made 21 starts for the Belles. Anderson helped the SSC squad pitch 17 shutouts over the course of the season.

The Evangels continued to add strong talent from Westmoore High School with the addition of Rodriguez. Joining former high school teammates Bayleigh and Brooklyn Fink, Rodriguez comes to MACU after leading the Jaguars to a 14-2-1 record and an appearance in the quarterfinal round of the state championships.

Wiley rounds out the signees as she comes to MACU after a great high school career at Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, Okla. In 2018, the center mid was a part of the Titans team that finished 11-6 and made an appearance in the state quarterfinals.

"Our two JUCO transfers, Aubrey (Adams) and Dixie (Anderson), will bring experience and an expectation of success," Dresel added. "Our two true freshmen, Samantha (Rodriguez) and Josie (Wiley), come to us from great club teams who have a tradition of winning. It's also exciting to sign four local players."

These four will be joining a Mid-America Christian women's soccer team that is coming off one of its most successful seasons in program history. The Evangels finished the 2019 campaign with a 14-6-1 record, notching the second-most wins in a season since the program's inception. MACU defeated Southwestern Christian 4-0 in the NCCAA Central Region Championship to capture its fourth regional title in the last six seasons and advance to the NCCAA National Championship Tournament.

Competing at their fourth national meet in Kissimmee, Fla., the Evangels picked up a 4-0 victory over Erskine College in pool play, their first win at the national meet since defeating Columbia International 6-0 in pool play at the 2015 NCCAA National Championships.
