- Team Notes:
- After opening the season with a pair of victories, Texas Wesleyan has struggled coming into Saturday's match, dropping seven of the last eight with the last win coming in a 1-0 result at Southwestern Christian on Oct. 1.
- The Lady Rams put up a tough fight against No. 25 Science & Arts at home on Tuesday, but were still dominated in the possession with a 24-7 shot margin, including 14-3 in shots on-goal.
- Even though Texas Wesleyan is averaging 1.80 goals per game, the Lady Rams are led by one of the top strikers in the league in Tameir Grosvenor. The graduate student forward has scored half of the TWU goals this season as she ranks second in the SAC with nine goals and fourth in total points with 20.
- Texas Wesleyan has struggled in the defense, ranking ninth in the conference in goals allowed average at 2.80. Only Oklahoma Panhandle State has conceded more scores per game than the Lady Rams this season.
While the all-time series between the two programs is relatively even, the Evangels have had success against the Lady Rams in recent history as MACU has won three straight in the matchup. In last year's meeting,
Veronica Lopez Cordero led the MACU attack with a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the 74
th minute to propel the Evangels to a 2-1 victory at the Dill Soccer Field on Oct. 16, 2021.
