OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference announced its 2022 SAC Softball Tournament pairings on Monday as Mid-America Christian will head into bracket play as the No. 5 seed in the Oklahoma City bracket.
The eight-team tourney will run from Thursday, May 5 through Sunday, May 8 and will be held at two different sites: Ann Lacy Stadium on the campus of Oklahoma City University (OCU) and Bill Smith Ballpark on the campus of the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (USAO).
The Evangels will play at Ann Lacy Stadium in the second game at 1 p.m. on Thursday as the Evangels will be matched up with No. 4 seed Texas Wesleyan. If MACU is victorious, they'll turn right back around at 3 p.m. to take on the winner of top-seed Oklahoma City and No. 8 seed Central Christian. If MACU drops their opening game, they will take on the loser of the Stars/Tigers matchup in an elimination game at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Mid-America Christian will enter the tournament with a lot of momentum, closing out the regular season with a 30-20 overall record and a 17-15 mark in SAC play. Since Apr. 6, the Evangels have won 12 of their last 14 games with the only two losses coming against No. 1 Oklahoma City on Apr. 18.
The entire tournament will be streamed on the SAC Sports Network. You can find the live stream and stat links listed below.
