GAME NOTES
- Mid-America Christian scored its one run on six hits and committed a pair of errors while Panhandle State recorded just one hit and one error.
- The Aggies put together the first major threat in the top of the second when OPSU loaded the bases behind a hit-by-pitch and a pair of walks, but MACU starter Rachel Eggleston got out of the jam by striking out Aggies catcher Marissa Obregon.
- The Evangels biggest threat through the first half of the game came when Cailey Parsells reached on a two-out bunt single to third before advancing to third base on a throwing error and a passed ball. However, the Aggies thwarted the opportunity by just barely throwing out Mikaylee Allen at first on a safety squeeze play to end the inning.
- MACU's lone run came in the fourth inning as the Evangels loaded the bases through the first four at-bats on a trio of singles by Janessa Larman up the middle, Olivia Roberts to left and Rachel Humburg reached by beating out an infield single to short. With one away, Aurelia Holguin lifted a flyball to right-center field, scoring pinch-runner Stormy Haynes from third on the sacrifice fly.
- Oklahoma Panhandle State's biggest threat came in the top of the sixth as the Aggies were able to load the bases behind a pair of walks and a hit-by-pitch with just one down. However, Cailey Parsells was able to make a sensational running snag on a liner toward the left field line for the second out to keep the runners at bay before Eggleston punched out OPSU left fielder Nicole Peralta on her eighth strikeout of the game to keep it at 1-0.
- After laboring in the sixth, Eggleston finished off the contest strong with a three-up, three-down seventh to secure her second complete-game shutout of the season. The one hit given up by Eggleston matched her second-fewest hits allowed in a complete game with the last one coming in a one-hit, six-inning 8-0 victory over Southwestern (Kan.) on Feb. 15. Eggleston threw a no-hitter in a 10-0 win over Ecclesia (Ark.) on Mar. 16, 2022.
- Despite issuing four walks, Eggleston tallied a season-high nine strikeouts, finishing just one shy of tying her career-high in an 8-4 win at Central Christian (Kan.) on Apr. 12, 2022.
- Olguin's RBI marked her fifth of the season while Haynes eighth run of the season moved her into a tie for second the team with Cailey Parsells.
- The won over OPSU snapped MACU's three-game losing streak as well as snapped a four-game skid in the all-time series against the Aggies. The Evangels also handed Panhandle its first Sooner Athletic Conference loss of the season.
