  • Mid-America Christian had a great chance to close out the series with a sweep in the bottom of the seventh when Emylee Campbell lifted a fly ball to right field with one out with a runner at third, however, pinch runner Cierra Russell was called out for leaving third early for the third out, sending the game into extra innings.
  • The Evangels put together another great chance in the bottom of the eighth when Brooklyn Wilson reached on a bunt single to the circle and advanced to second with the defense trying to hold the lead runner at third before Megan Widener reached on a walk to load the bases with no one out. However, MACU once again came up empty when Cailey Parsells flied out on a shallow pop-up to center and Aurelia Holguin fouled out to the second baseman before Janessa Larman flied to center to end the game in heartbreak for MACU.
  • Larman led the MACU bats by going 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored while her wall-banging double just barely missed clearing the fence by a couple of feet.
  • Megan Widener completed her perfect day from the plate by going 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases to go with a pair of walks drawn. Between the first and second game, the Aggies were unable to retire Widener in any of her plate appearances.

Harley Beesley suffered the tough luck loss in the circle for MACU, allowing one unearned run on one hit in one inning of relief.
  • The defeat for the Evangels was their first in an extra-inning game this season as the Evangels dropped to 1-1 in games that went to extra frames this year.
  • Despite the defeat, MACU still holds a 12-10 lead in the all-time series against the Aggies.
