PITCHING DECISION TOP PERFORMERS SCORING SUMMARY GAME NOTES
  • Mid-America Christian scored its seven runs on 11 hits while Langston pushed across its one run on seven hits and committed four errors.
  • Langston put together a major threat right out of the gate as back-to-back singles by McKenzie Conner and Gracelyn Rosales followed by a Shadie Davis walk loaded the bases with no one out. However, MACU starter Rachel Eggleston was able to get out of the jam by getting a fielder's choice groundout to first with a play at the plate followed by striking out Midori Williams and getting Madison Slater to fly out to center to keep the Lions off the board.
  • The Lions pitcher Tandy Garrett was twirling a gem, holding the Evangels to without a hit for the first eight batters until the bottom of the third when Megan Widener smoked a ground ball that glanced off the third baseman's glove for a one-out double before Cailey Parsells drove her in with a bunt single that the second baseman dropped on the throw to first, allowing Widener to advance home and make it a 1-0 game.
  • Langston kept the game close until the bottom of the fifth as the Evangels swatted four hits and the Lady Lions tallied two errors to allow MACU to score four runs in the frame. MACU's final run of the inning came when Olivia Roberts hit an infield single to the shortstop, scoring Karlee Danielson from third to become MACU's all-time RBIs leader with the 97th in her career, surpassing Hannah Salmon (2018-20).
  • The Lions only run of the game came in the top of the sixth, when Madison Slater smashed an RBI double to left-center to score Peyton Lea all the way from first to cut it to 5-1.
  • The Evangels generated another run when Abby Womack led off the sixth with a single before pinch-runner Emylee Campbell stole second, reached third on a wild pitch and then scored on an RBI groundout to first by Hallie Wilson to seal the 6-1 final.
  • Megan Widener led the MACU bats, going 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a pair of runs scored while Rachel Humburg was the only other Evangel to finish with a multi-hit game, tallying 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.
  • The Evangels were only able to record three RBIs on their six runs as Roberts, Widener and Hallie Wilson each tallied one apiece.
  • Rachel Eggleston picked up her 10th win of the season in the circle, improving to 10-2 after allowing just one earned run on seven hits with one walk and six strikeouts over 6.1 innings of work.
