    • The Evangels bats were highly efficient as MACU batted .439 (50-of-114) as a team with everyone in the starting lineup batting .300 or better in the series. Brooklyn Wilson swung the hottest bat in the lineup, slashing .538 (7-of-13) with three doubles, a homer, four RBIs and four runs.
    • MACU's pitching and defense were also stellar as the Evangels held a Langston lineup that averages three runs per game to just five runs (1.3 rpg) as well as limited the team that averages .271 from the plate to a .222 average. The MACU defense was also stellar in the series, committing just one error for a .990 fielding percentage while the Lions committed eight miscues for an .918 fielding clip.
    • Senior first baseman Olivia Roberts made history with her RBI infield single in the bottom of the fifth of MACU's 6-1 win game one on Saturday. That run driven in allowed the Mustang, Okla. native to surpass Hannah Salmon as the program's all-time RBIs leader with 97. Roberts knocked in two more RBIs in the finale to put her one shy of becoming the first MACU player to record 100 career RBIs.

  • Team Notes:
    • Dallas Christian is coming off a strong showing in a doubleheader split at Texas Wesleyan on Mar. 24 as the Crusaders fell 5-2 in the opener before bouncing back with a 2-1 win to split the twin bill with the Lady Rams.
    • So far in the 2023 season, DCC has put together a solid hitting season, batting .297 as a team, but are only averaging 3.6 runs per game while posting a 4-27-1 record. One of the big reasons for the Crusaders struggles has been due to their pitching and defense as DCC is allowing the third-worst ERA in the NCCAA at 10.23 ERA on a .379 opponent batting average while the defense is mustering just a .906 fielding percentage, which also ranks as the sixth-worst in the NCCAA.
    • Despite Dallas Christian's struggles, freshman shortstop Lacey Bainbridge has been stellar from the dish, registering a .417 batting average while her 10 doubles rank as the fourth-most in the NCCAA.
    • While pitching has been a problem for DCC this season, Summer Hasfurter is the team's ace, throwing a team-high 10 starts and allowing a team-low 8.91 ERA. Despite Autumn Minyard posting an 8.44 ERA through eight starts and 12 appearances, she is coming off a strong start against Texas Wesleyan, allowing just one earned run on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts over seven innings of work.
    • Since the two teams started facing each other last season, the Evangels have dominated the series with a 6-0 record and have run-ruled the Crusaders in every single game. The last time the two teams met down in Farmer's Branch, Texas, MACU cruised to a pair of 12-2 and 10-2 victories in a pair of five-inning affairs.
Southwestern (Kan.)
  • Record: 1-18
  • Last Game: Lost at Tabor (Kan.) – 8-7 – Mar. 25, 2023 – Hillsboro, Kan.
  • Series vs MACU (2004-): MACU leads 20-11
  • Last Game vs MACU: MACU won 12-5 – Feb. 15, 2023 – Allen Field
  • Players to Watch (Hitting):
    • Rayven Favors – JR – INF
      • .460 BA (23-50), 8 2B, 2 3B, 9 RBI, 13 R, 8 BB, .534 OB%, .700 SLG%
    • Alexus Johnson – SO – P
      • .327 BA (16-49), 1 2B, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 8 R, 8 BB, 2 HBP, .441 OB%, .408 SLG%
    • Isabel Lytle – SO – INF
      • .274 BA (17-62), 5 2B, 1 HR, 7 RBI, 11 R, 7 BB, .348 OB%, .403 SLG%
  • Players to Watch (Pitching):
    • Alexus Johnson – SO – P
      • 0-8 W-L, 7.09 ERA, 10 APP, 8 GS, 5 CG, 52.1 IP, 94 H, 56 R, 53 ER, 11 BB, 22 SO, .387 OBA
    • Raleigh Kramer – FR – P
      • 1-3 W-L, 9.75 ERA, 12 APP, 5 GS, 28.0 IP, 47 H, 47 R, 39 ER, 30 BB, 5 SO, .353 OBA
  • Team Notes:
    • Southwestern is coming off a tough battle at Tabor on March 25 as the Moundbuilders dropped a pair of close 6-3, 8-7 battles. SC narrowly missed coming back in the finale, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh to make it a one-run game, but with the bases loaded and one out, Kalli Viegra grounded into a fielder's choice forceout at home before Isabel Lytle grounded out to short to abruptly end the Moundbuilders' comeback.
    • SC enters the week hitting just .270 as a team and averaging 3.8 runs per game while allowing the 11th-worst ERA in the NAIA (9.77) and giving up 10.8 rpg.
    • Leading the Moundbuilders bats is junior infielder Rayven Favors, who is swatting an impressive .460 batting average with a team-high in doubles, triples, RBIs and runs scored. However, only one other SC player is hitting above .300 as Alexus Johnson is batting .327.
    • The ace of the Moundbuilders is sophomore hurler Alexus Johnson, who on-top of being a solid hitter is leading the team with a 7.09 ERA while striking out twice as many batters as walking with 22 K's to 11 walks.
    • While MACU has nearly doubled up the wins in the all-time series at 20-11, the Evangels have been especially good since Robert Wakefield took over the program as MACU holds a 16-4 record against the Moundbuilders since 2016. In their earlier season meeting at Allen Field, Mid-America Christian dominated a pair of doubleheaders as the Evangels cruised to a pair of 8-0 and 12-5 victories. Rachel Eggleston tossed a one-hit shutout in the opening game while four different MACU players recorded two RBIs in a 12-run effort in the second contest.
