GAME NOTES
- Mid-America Christian scored its eight runs on nine hits while Ecclesia tallied two hits and committed a pair of errors.
- It was a pitcher's duel in the early going as each team put just one runner on-base through the first two innings.
- The Evangels were finally able to crack into the scoring column in the bottom of the third when Cailey Parsells reached on a two-out single, stole second and then came around to score on a throwing error by the catcher when nabbing third on another stolen base.
- The Evangels added two more in the fourth when pinch-runner Stormy Haynes scored on an RBI groundout to short by Brooklyn Wilson before Emylee Campbell dropped a base hit into right-center to plate Rachel Humburg, making it a 3-0 game.
- Ecclesia's best inning offensively came in the top of the third as it was the only frame for the Royals to get multiple baserunners with a walk and an infield single. However, Rachel Eggleston got out of the jam by tying her career-best 10th strikeout with lead-off hitter Amani Scales going down swinging for the final out.
- After being held to just three hits through the first four innings, the MACU bats came alive in the fifth. Megan Widener led off the frame with a double to right-center before coming across to score on Parsells' RBI single up the middle. Mikaylee Allen then bashed her third triple of the season with a line drive to center before Olivia Roberts drove her in with an RBI single to left to make it 6-0. Following a Rachel Humburg infield single to short, Brooklyn Wilson drove in another with a double down the right field line before Emylee Campbell plated the walk-off run with a groundout to the pitcher, plating Humburg to seal the 8-0 final.
- Coming off a SAC and NCCAA Picher of the Week performance last week, Eggleston continued to stay hot in the circle with her second straight complete-game shutout, allowing just two hits and two walks while her 10 K's matched her career-best outing at Central Christian (Kan.) on Apr. 12.
- Brooklyn Wilson led the MACU bats as one of two batters with a pair of hits, slashing 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Emylee Campbell also tallied a pair of RBIs.
- Cailey Parsells continued to stay hot, batting 2-for-3 with an RBI, a pair of runs and three stolen bags.

- Despite the 14-run outburst, the MACU batters were held to just six hits with only two being extra-base hits off an Abby Womack lead-off double in the third and a Karlee Danielson three-run homer to left in the fourth.
- Even though MACU got out-hit 7-6, the Evangels were more effective at getting on-base by drawing nine walks and had six batters reach via hit-by-pitch.
- Karlee Danielson led the MACU bats for the first time this season, going 2-for-2 off the MACU bench with four RBIs and two runs while hitting her first career home run in a varsity game.
- Janessa Larman was the only other MACU bat to tally multiple RBIs, going 1-for-2 with a two-RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the second.
- Mikaylee Allen scored a team-high three runs as she reached three times on a single and two walks to go with a stolen bag.
- Avery Schneringer earned her ninth win of the season in the circle, allowing two earned runs on six hits with no walks and five strikeouts over four innings of work. Chana Wolfe also tossed a scoreless inning of relief, allowing just one hit in a scoreless fifth.
- With the doubleheader sweep, Mid-America Christian has now won 22 straight games since the two teams started facing each other in 2013. The 12-run differential in the second game of the twin-bill was MACU's largest margin of victory over the Royals since picking up a 17-3 win on May 9, 2014 in the NCCAA Central Regional played at Oklahoma Christian in Edmond, Oklahoma.
UP NEXT
- Mid-America Christian will return to Sooner Athletic Conference play on Friday as the Evangels will head to McPherson, Kan. to open a four-game series against Central Christian. The opening game of the twin-bill is slated for 3:30 p.m.
