  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian enters the weekend with a lot of momentum as the Evangels have won six of their last eight games and are coming off a huge doubleheader split at No. 4 Science & Arts last weekend, picking up a pair of 3-2 and 2-0 wins while falling 7-2 and 7-0 in the other two contests.
    • As a result of her sensational work in the circle, senior pitcher Avery Schneringer became MACU's first NAIA Pitcher of the Week. The Blanchard, Oklahoma native tossed perhaps the biggest complete game shutout of her MACU career in the Evangels' 2-0 victory over the Drovers, being the first pitcher in the NAIA to shut out the fourth-ranked team in the country. Schneringer wrapped up her series by allowing just a 0.84 ERA over 8.1 innings of work.
    • MACU also got a stellar performance from sophomore righty Chana Wolfe in the series after she earned a 3-2 win over USAO in the opening game of the series. In that win, the Salina, Kansas product struck out a career-high nine batters and allowed just two runs, one earned while walking only one batter.
    • Despite MACU's struggles from the plate, redshirt sophomore first baseman Makenzie Thurman was a clutch bat for the Evangels in the lineup during that series. Despite slashing just .273 in the series, the Walters, Oklahoma product came up with two of the most clutch at-bats in the series, hitting the go-ahead two-RBI single in game one before delivering the game-winning two-RBI single in the 2-0 win to lock up the series split on Saturday.

    • Texas Wesleyan is coming of a series win at Southwestern Assemblies of God last weekend as the Rams and Lions split the opening doubleheader with a 10-4 TWU win and a 5-2 SAGU victory before the Rams swept the Sunday doubleheader, 7-4, 7-5.
    • The Rams enter the series as the third-ranked team in the Sooner Athletic Conference in team ERA at 2.81, but rank in the middle of the pack in the hitting department with the sixth-best batting average (.289) while posting the third-to-last on-base percentage (.335).
    • Leading the TWU bats at the top of the order is freshman outfielder Haylie Delarosa, who is posting a team-best .368 batting average and .421 on-base percentage while scoring 19 runs and stealing 20 bags. With three players leading the team with 15 RBIs, freshman pitcher Kylie Barnes has been the most productive with a .366 hitting clip while scoring 18 runs.
    • Junior pitcher Abbie Bird has been the workhorse of the Rams rotation, throwing 103 of TWU's 182 innings while holding a 11-4 record in her 17 appearances with a 2.79 ERA. Barnes has also been a good arm for TexWes with a 5-4 record in 10 showings with a 2.90 ERA.
    • Even though MACU holds a slim 19-17 lead in the all-time series since the two programs started facing each other in 2014, the Evangels have fared well against Texas Wesleyan as of late, winning eight-straight since Mar. 26, 2022. Mid-America Christian played a four-game set at TWU last season, as the Evangels swept the series 6-3, 9-3, 7-4 and 11-0.
