  • Team Notes:
    • For the last month, Mid-America Christian has been on-fire in Sooner Athletic Conference play as the Evangels completed a four-game sweep over Southwestern Christian this past weekend. In that slate, the Evangels put together a pair of run-rule 9-1, 8-0 victories in the Friday games before pulling out a pair of thrilling 9-7, 8-7 victories in the Saturday slate.
    • Since Mar. 15, the Evangels have performed at a very high level against SAC competition, either winning or splitting all four of their league series games which includes a pair of four-game sweeps over Oklahoma Panhandle State and SCU, going 13-3 in that stretch.
    • A big reason for MACU's improved play during the second half of the season has been their ability to swing the bats. Since their OPSU series, the Evangels as a team are posting a .318 team batting average and have five everyday players that are hitting .350 or better.
    • One of the brightest spots in MACU's batting order has been a player who has stepped up in MACU's outfield in junior Karlee Danielson. Over the last month, Danielson is posting a team-best .480 batting average while slugging a team-high three homers for a team-best 12 RBIs and has scored 12 runs to go with five stolen bases during that stretch.
    • One of Evangels' best bats from last season has also found her stride over the last month in junior utility player Emylee Campbell. After the All-SAC First Team performer saw her batting average dip to .255 after MACU's first game against OPSU back on Mar. 15, the Blanchard, Oklahoma native has seen her average rise to .302 after getting a monumental walk-off single in her last at-bat against SCU on Saturday to lead MACU to the 8-7 victory.

    • In their inaugural season in the SAC, the Pioneers have struggled to get the bats going as WBU ranks just seventh in team batting average (.278), with the sixth-best on-base percentage (.336), but sit eighth in slugging percentage (.344). • Wayland Baptist started its softball program in the fall of 2022 with the Pioneers competing in a non-sanctioned season during the spring of 2023. During its first season as a member school of the SAC, the Pioneers have made a splash in their inaugural year, currently holding the fourth-most wins in the SAC after being picked to finish last in the league's preseason poll.
