KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second-straight season, the MACU Women's Soccer team will be making its way back to the NAIA National Championship Tournament and will also stay in-state as the Evangels were selected as the No. 2 seed in the Bartlesville bracket.
The Evangels will face off against No. 3 seed Talladega (Ala.) on Thursday, Nov. 20 and if MACU advances, it will play top-seeded, nationally fifth-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan in the Saturday match.
Under fifth-year head coach Anthony Yousey, Mid-America Christian put together an outstanding 2025 campaign that saw the Evangels finish SAC Tournament play with an 11-4-3 record, battling eventual SAC Tournament and Regular Season Champion No. 10 John Brown to a late 2-1 defeat in the SAC Semifinal.
Over the course of the season, the Evangels put together some strong results, including getting draws against No. 10 John Brown, No. 17 Science & Arts, as well as Oklahoma City, another NAIA Tournament drawn squad.
MACU also picked up some quality wins against Kansas Wesleyan, LSU Shreveport, LSU Alexandria, and Southwestern Christian over the course of the 2025 campaign while all four of MACU's losses came to high quality teams as well.
The Evangels make the return trip to the NAIA Tournament after making it to the dance for the first time in program history last year, narrowly dropping a 1-0 nailbiter to Xavier (La.) in last year's First Round match.
