  • Team Notes:
    • After facing a tough 0-5 start to the season, Mid-America Christian was able to find its stride at the NAIASB Invitational hosted at the FireLake Ball Fields in Shawnee, Oklahoma last weekend. During that slate, the Evangels went 2-1 and picked up a pair of statement victories over No. 7 Central Methodist and Montreat with its only loss coming to No. 18 Benedictine.
    • In the win over CMU, junior pitcher Chana Wolfe put together the best start of her career, as she tossed a complete game two-hit shutout, allowing just one walk and struck out a career-high nine batters in the 2-0 victory. Senior outfielder Emylee Campbell provided all of the offense MACU would need as she hit her sixth career home run on a two-run shot to left-center in the bottom of the first. After earning the result, Wolfe was selected as both the SAC Pitcher of the Week as well as the NCCAA Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week.
    • In the victory over Montreat, the Evangels once again scored all their runs off a long ball as senior infielder Kisbel Vizcaya launched her first MACU career grand slam down the left field line in the top of the second. Pitchers Isabel Ray and Chloeaunna Madbull-Jim shut the door on the Montreat bats as the tandem combined to allow just two earned runs on three hits with a pair of walks and six strikeouts. Ray recorded her first win in the circle while Madbull-Jim collected her first career save.
    • Three weeks into the season, MACU has a pair of players making waves at the NAIA level as Wolfe is one of just 10 players that is still boasting a 0.00 ERA while Vizcaya is currently posting the fourth-best batting average and seventh-best slugging percentage in the SAC.

  • Team Notes:
    • Due to the inclement weather through the first half of February, Bethel wasn't able to open its season until this week as the Threshers are off to an 0-3 start after suffering a 12-0 loss to Doane (Neb.) in Wichita, Kansas on Monday before dropping a 14-4, 11-3 doubleheader at home against Hastings (Neb.) on Wednesday.
    • BC has struggled both from the plate and in the circle so far as the Threshers are boasting a .250 team batting average and have scored seven runs through 17 innings while the Threshers are allowing a 13.50 team ERA.
    • The Threshers have been seeking answers from the plate as 15 different BC players have recorded at least two plate appearances through the first three contests as sophomore corner infielder Abrail Ramirez has been the most consistent for Bethel thus far this season, slashing .500 (3-for-6) with a double and a walk drawn.
    • In the circle, Bethel has worked by committee as four different pitchers have thrown at least two of the team's 18 innings thus far. So far, junior Emma Killingsworth has been the most consistent of the Threshers starters, appearing in three games and tossing a team-high six innings while allowing a 6.00 ERA on 10 hits and six walks, but has yet to strike out a batter.
    • Friday's meeting will mark just the sixth time the Evangels and Threshers have faced off with the last meeting also coming in the Red Dirt Classic. In the contest on March 5, 2022, Mikaylee Allen led the MACU batting efforts by slashing 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, Cailey Parsells batted 2-for-3, scored a pair of runs and stole three bases. Rachel Eggleston got the win in the circle after allowing just one earned run through five innings of work.

  • Last Game vs MACU: MACU won 7-4 – Mar. 19, 2018 – Allen Field
  • Series Streak: MACU won 7
  • Team Notes:
    • Haskell is coming off a three-game set at Arlington Baptist last weekend and after getting its first win of the year in a nail-biting 14-13 result on Feb. 17, the Fightin' Indians dropped the last two games of the series by scores of 11-0 and 13-3.
    • Outside of its 14-run outburst in its opening game against ABU on the 17th, HINU has struggled to push runs across it's scored a combined four runs in its four losses.
    • Mid-America Christian and Haskell will be facing each other for the first time in seven years. After the Fightin' Indians won the first ever meeting between the two programs on 2004, the Evangels have won the last seven matchups, the last coming in an 18-4, 7-4 doubleheader sweep at Allen Field on Mar. 19, 2018.
