  • Team Notes:
    • For the second-straight year, Mid-America Christian is coming off a tightly-contested four-game series against Nelson with three of the four games decided by a single run. The Evangels narrowly missed pulling out a four-game sweep after rallying in the finale t to take a late 5-3 lead, but the Lions scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off the 6-5 win in the finale.
    • The Evangels got a pair of complete game shutout appearances from junior ace Chana Wolfe, who notched her third-straight shutout in the 1-0 victory on Mar. 6 before Isabel Ray tossed five shutout innings in the 8-0 win on Mar. 7. MACU also got a complete game out of Gia Reynosa in the second game of the series as MACU pulled out a 2-1 victory.
    • A junior pitcher from Salina, Kansas, Wolfe is currently on one of the most unprecedented scoreless streaks in program history. Wolfe has not allowed a single run in the last 21 innings of work and has tossed three consecutive complete game shutouts, starting it with a two-hitter in the 2-0 win over No. 7 Central Methodist at the NAIASB Invitational on Feb. 22. Wolfe is currently just one of four pitchers in the NAIA that has not allowed a single earned run while throwing the most innings of those four pitchers that haven't given up a run.
    • While the team struggled from the plate in the series against a tough Nelson pitching rotation, one of the biggest bright spots for MACU was senior outfielder Brooklyn Wilson. After getting off to a tough start to the season by batting 3-for-23 through the first 11 games, Wilson's bat came alive in the doubleheader finale against Nelson as she slashed 4-for-5 with two doubles and a homer to drive in three and score three runs. As a result, Wilson nearly doubled her batting average after one day, going from .130 to .250.

  • Players to Watch (Pitching):
    • Brynlee Alsip – JR – P
      • 5-0 W-L, 0.46 ERA, 7 APP, 4 GS, 2 CG, 2 SHO, 30.2 IP, 16 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 7 BB, 21 SO, .150 OBA

  • Team Notes:
    • Oklahoma City is coming off a downright dominant series sweep at Central Christian last weekend as the Stars outscored the Tigers 64-8 before returning home for a non-conference doubleheader against Bethany on Tuesday as OCU pulled out a pair of 6-1 and 9-0 victories.
    • The Stars are one of the most lethal hitting teams in the NAIA, entering Thursday's slate third in the nation in batting average (.403) with the NAIA's best slugging percentage (.664) and fourth-best on-base percentage (.475) while also scoring the most runs per game in the NAIA (9.9). The Stars are no slouch in the circle as well as OCU ranks second in the SAC and 21st in the NAIA in team ERA (2.41) with the second-best K/7 rate in the conference at 5.22, sitting only behind MACU.
    • The Evangels pitching staff will need to be up-to-the-task to contend with one of the best lineups in the country, especially Tiffany Paul who comes into the contest leading the NAIA in home runs (10), RBIs (36) and runs (31) as well as Analiese Rayburn, who ranks fifth in the NAIA with 30 RBIs. In the circle, Brynlee Alsip and Emersen Heron have carried the load for the Stars this season with the pair starting 11 of OCU's 20 games and amassing an impressive 11-1 combined record.
    • The powerhouse Stars program has been a tough customer for MACU as the Evangels will be seeking at least their fourth win against OCU since 2008 and their first victory since 2022. The last time the Evangels defeated Oklahoma City, it came in the SAC Tournament at Ann Lacy Stadium on May 6, 2022 as Rachel Eggleston tossed an incredible one-run, six-hit complete game performance while Aurelia Holguin went 2-for-3 with a home run, an RBI and a run scored in the victory.
