- Team Notes:
- Mid-America Christian is coming off a stellar senior weekend series where it took three-out-of-four games against Wayland Baptist. After suffering an 8-5 defeat to the Pioneers in the series-opener, the Evangels locked down over the remaining three games, outscoring WBU 18-1 to come away with 9-1, 1-0 and 8-0 victories.
- The results were crucial with the Sooner Athletic Conference standings shaping up as the Evangels moved into a tie with Texas Wesleyan for the No. 3 spot in the league standings with 10 games remaining, four of which are against the aforementioned Rams.
- Overall, the Evangels hit for a very solid .347 team batting average in the set against the Pioneers with senior infielder Kisbel Vizcaya leading the charge with a .538 hitting clip, slashing 7-for-13 with four RBIs and four runs while Hallie Wilson's bat also came alive, batting .500 (6-for-12) with an RBI and four runs, including scoring the game-winning run in the 1-0 victory over the Pioneers.
- From the circle, the trio of Gia Reynosa and Chana Wolfe in the starting rotation along with Chloeaunna Madbull-Jim out of the pen combined to help lead an outstanding staff effort that allowed only a 1.40 team ERA over 25 innings of work. All three pitchers posted a sub-1.00 ERA as Reynosa tossed a complete game shutout, Wolfe also picked up a win while allowing only one earned run in eight innings of work for the slate and Madbull-Jim picked up both a win and a save in the series while not allowing a single run in 4.2 innings of incredible relief.
