OKLAHOMA CITY – After wrapping up the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference regular season on Friday, the MACU Softball team earned the No. 3 seed for the conference tournament for the second-straight year and will compete in the Oklahoma City bracket on Thursday and Friday.

The Evangels wrapped up the campaign with 26-16 overall record and posted a 22-10 mark in SAC play, finishing three games ahead of Texas Wesleyan for the third-spot in the standings.

The year marked the fifth time in the last seven years that MACU finished with 20 or more conference wins as well as the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Evangels locked up the third seed in the SAC tourney.

MACU is competing in the Oklahoma City bracket for the first time since 2022 after playing the last two SAC Tournaments in the Chickasha bracket. The last time MACU played in the OCU bracket, the Evangels had some strong success by taking down Texas Wesleyan 5-1 before stunning No. 2 Oklahoma City 2-1 to advance to the winner's bracket. Unfortunately, the Evangels came up just short of advancing to the SAC Championship game after falling to the Starts 12-0 and 6-1 in the elimination game on May 7, 2022.

Mid-America Christian will open SAC Tournament play on Thursday afternoon at Ann Lacy Stadium against crosstown rival No. 6 seed Southwestern Christian. The contest is slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
